This is an exciting new project that is aiming to truly provide person centred support to two young men who have chosen to share a house near their family homes. The house is owned by Aldwyck Housing Association. But my client has been given the job of providing support to the young men, working closely with their families, friends and involved professionals to make sure that the support is properly planned, delivered and regularly reviewed The two young men are basically non-verbal and use a variety of means to communicate their needs and chat! You will receive full training in order to communicate effectively. We are looking for people who are happy and able to provide full support (personal care included) to the guys in their own home. You will manage a team of 4 f/t and p/t workers and a number of different sessional workers If you are interested in being part of this project or would just like more information please contact us today!!! This is a new project in Bushey providing housing to two young men. The two boys live busy lives and want friendly and fun people to help us to do things the way we want to do them. We need help with communication, personal care, going out and about and looking after our home which we really like. They both get on well but have different interests and do things differently. They are really close to their families and friends and they, with their social workers, help them plan the support they need and then make sure it happens! Their families, who are the main supporters at the moment, will help you to get to know the boys and will work alongside you when needed. They both have communication devices that they have with us all the time and use to chat to people with. They will need support with lots of things; keeping healthy and safe and sorting our money, washing dishes as well as eating out, doing the hovering as well as horse riding and getting up early as well as lying in at weekends! You will need to be friendly and respectful at all times, help them look after themselves (personal care) and their house; (the cleaning, the cooking and the gardening!), listen to us and be patient and helpful. We are ideally looking for someone who has experience and knowledge of working with young adults that have Angelamanns Syndrome and Drbowitz.
