www.flame-jobs.co.uk are looking for an Occupational Therapist to work either full time or part time hours per week (between 9am till 5pm Monday - Friday) in a large care centre that provides accommodation for young adults that have deteriorating neurological condition, acquired brain injury and genetic conditions impacting on physical disabilities, based in Taunton, Somerset
The Occupational Therapist will have a highly visible and influential role in assessing service users, training members of staff and ensuring care plans in relation to occupational therapy are maintained and acted upon.
This will include ensuring sound care practice among the staff team. The Occupational Therapist has the opportunity and the responsibility for promoting an organisational culture which puts the needs of service users first and which places a high value on professional practice standards and the pursuit of positive outcomes for adults receiving a service.
The essential requirement for this role are:
- Being a Qualified Occupational Therapist
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working with people who have a deteriorating neurological condition, acquired brain injury and genetic conditions impacting on physical abilities.
-Extensive experience and skill as an occupational therapist negotiating priorities and decision making, including drawing up an agreed plan of care or support to ensure assessed needs are met.
-Experience and skill in leading members of staff, involving service users and carers, negotiating plans and outcomes with staff, service users, and carers.
-Ability to work flexibly to facilitate the care planning and review process.
-Excellent recording and reporting skills
-Commitment and aptitude for development work in relation to practice and procedures in a large organisation
Car Driver would be an advantage but not essential
Must be able to work Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm. This will NOT include any evenings or weekends
